Who is it for?

This AS physics revision course is suitable if you have studied, or are studying:

·        Physics A:

o       Unit G481: Mechanics

o       Unit G482: Electrons, waves and photons

·        Physics B:

o       Unit G491: Physics in action

o       Unit G492: Understanding processes and experimentation and data handling

What does the course cover?

We’ll help you to:

·        Improve your analytical skills

·        Ensure you know all key definitions

·        Improve how you write about physics and answer questions

·        Be able to work with equations and multi-stage calculations

·        Use the information in the ‘Data, formulae and relationships’ booklet

·        Avoid common misunderstandings and misconceptions

·        Give accurate, specific answers which use the most appropriate terms

·        Rearrange equations so you can maximise marks in analytical questions

What exam knowledge does it teach?

We’ll give you specific advice in key areas to help with your AS physics course. The exact topics will be chosen according to your needs, but we often cover these areas:

·        Exploring the different styles of question you may be asked

·        Coaching in exam technique

·        Working through past papers and receiving useful, meaningful feedback

·        Addressing the topics which cause you most difficulty

·        Working through model solutions from past exam papers

·        Examining mark schemes to understand what examiners require

You will be given every opportunity to ask your AS physics revision tutor questions, and we will review past papers and offer rapid feedback. We do not let students do past papers without providing guidance and feedback.

We also perform active learning, which may involve acting out events and encouraging visualisation of key concepts.
