We believe that small classes work best for successful exam revision and we aim never to have more than nine students in a class. Often, particularly for AS and A2 Level courses, the revision groups are smaller. Small classes enable our tutors to give tailor-made student-focused tuition.
Research into class sizes carried out and reported by The University of London suggests that small groups allow tutors to be far more effective in their teaching. Fewer students can create ‘facilitating conditions' for the tutors and pupils to achieve their very best.
Students in small classes have been shown to interact to a greater extent with the tutor and their peers and this adds an extra dimension to their learning. Sustained contact with individual students in small groups is beneficial for the student's ability to express their concerns over certain areas of knowledge that may be lacking and tutors are more able to spot weaknesses and subsequently offer bespoke tuition to consolidate learning techniques.
