Cancellation of GCSE & A-Level Exams: Justin Craig are here to help following the Government’s decision to cancel GCSE and A Level exams this academic year, it has been announced that Students’ grades will be awarded based on a range of evidence such as mock results and teacher assessments. Students will also have the opportunity to appeal these grades and to sit the exams in the Autumn should they wish to do so.

GCSE & A Level Online Courses

Justin Craig Education will be offering a range of online courses to support students during this uncertain period of school closures, to maintain momentum and to allow students to prepare for the next step, whether or not they choose to sit the exams.

If some exams are going to go ahead in September, it is likely that we will also run a programme of exam revision courses during the summer holiday. These courses have been adapted for online delivery, to ensure we continue to offer the following Justin Craig benefits:

  • Small class sizes, no more than 9 students
  • Our tutors are all experienced and qualified teachers (We don’t use university students)
  • Tailored expert tuition, incorporating students’ individual needs
  • Quality monitoring during classes, by our Course Directors
  • Stringent safeguarding measures – all tutors have three-yearly DBS checks

Please note all our courses will be safe-guarded and monitored by a full Justin Craig Team, headed by a Course Director.

We plan to offer the following options over the Easter holidays and possibly throughout the Summer depending on the duration of school closures.

Online Schooling For Year 10 Students

Getting Ahead’ in Preparation for Year 11 

In order to maintain students’ momentum for their GCSE studies, we are offering a package of five subjects over 5 days , focusing on consolidating knowledge from Year 10 and giving an introduction to Year 11 content.

Each day will include 3 hours of tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

For example, students will study:

  • Monday – Biology
  • Tuesday – Chemistry
  • Wednesday – Physics
  • Thursday – Maths
  • Friday – English

However, other subjects such as Geography and History will be available.

We are initially running just one week but depending upon demand, this could be extended to additional weeks.

GCSE Maths Master Class

For those students on borderline predicted grades for Mathematics, we have a five-day course, consisting of include 3 hours of Maths tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

This is aimed at borderline students currently predicted grade 3 or 4 in the foundation or higher paper but who want to achieve a grade 4 or above in the higher paper.

Remote Learning For Year 11 Students

‘Master class’ in preparation for studying A level Maths

As many students find the step up for maths from GCSE to A Level particularly challenging, we are offering a four- day course for students planning to take Maths A level. The focus of this course will be to ensure that students have a strong foundation in the core GCSE topics which are used at A level, as well as getting ahead with some of the A level topics in preparation for year 12.

Each day will include 3 hours of tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

‘Getting Ahead’ in Preparation for Year 12

The step up from GCSE to A Level, can be daunting, so in order to help Year 11 students get ahead and be better prepared, we are offering a five-day course (Monday to Friday) in a specific subject.

For example:

  • Biology (Combined Science)
  • Chemistry (Triple Science)
  • Mathematics
  • English language, etc.

Each day will include 3 hours of tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

These courses will run over a period of at least two weeks, allowing a student to cover at least two subjects over the Easter holidays.

They will also take account of each students individual learning needs and in that way will cover specific topics that students may be struggling with.

‘Taster Day’ in an A Level Subject

Some students may be unsure what an A Level course will cover, so we have arranged day course in a range of popular subjects, including the sciences, Maths, Business, Economics, Politics and Psychology.

The six-hour course will give an overview of the main topics that will be studied during the two year A Level course.

E-Learning For Year 12 Students

‘Getting Ahead’ in Preparation for Year 13

As the studies become more in-depth in Year 13, we are offering a course to help Year 12 students get ahead and be better prepared for their final year before their final exams.

This is a five-day course (Monday to Friday) in a specific subject. Each day will include 3 hours of tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

These courses will run over a period at least two weeks, allowing a student to study at least two subjects over the Easter holidays. They will also take account of each student’s individual learning needs, covering specific topics that students may be struggling with.

At Home Courses For Year 13 Students

‘Master class’ in Preparation for University

Master classes are intended for Year 13 students who want to keep their knowledge and skills fresh so that they have a competitive edge when they start their degree course.

Each course will be in a specific subject and will give students the opportunity to address any weak areas. The tutor will take account of each students individual learning needs.

The five-day course will include 3 hours of tuition between the hours of 10 am and 1.30 pm with 30 minutes of breaks.

Subjects on offer include individual sciences, Maths, Business, Economics, Politics, Psychology.
