Revision Courses (Centre-Based & Online)
Our Unique Course Structure
Our top priority is ensuring students receive high quality tuition, which meets their individual needs. We achieve this by structuring our courses with a core content based on topics that students tend to struggle with but also include topics that the students on the course want to cover. In this way each course is bespoke to the students attending that course. By requesting information in advance of the course, our tutors are able to structure part of the course around the students’ needs, to optimise their revision time. Six weeks before the course students are provided with a link to our student portal where they can add information about their personal revision needs.
The benefits of Small-Group Courses
Study with like-minded students and receive the support from a subject specialist tutor. Small groups enable valuable discussion opportunities, allowing ideas and theories to be explored and providing students with the opportunity to learn from one another, as well as from the tutor. This mutual support engages the students and stimulates learning.
The Difference Between Classroom-Based and Online Courses
Our classroom-based courses are better able to provide students with a stimulating and inclusive study environment, free from distractions at home. They also enable the tutor to provide more individual attention and interaction with students. Tutors are able to circulate in a classroom, looking at a student’s work, spotting errors and discussing solutions with individual students. Students mix with other motivated students and share ideas more readily, which helps with their enjoyment, engagement, motivation and making lasting friendships.
Our online courses are a great alternative to classroom-based courses, and ensure that students receive high quality tuition but with the added flexibility. These courses are especially useful for those who live far away from one of our centres and for those who do not need the more individual support provided by classroom-based courses.
Age Groups
We offer a comprehensive range of tuition and revision courses for students in Years 10 to 13 (studying towards IGCSE, GCSE and A Levels). Our classroom-based courses have an upper age limit of 19 years but we also offer online one to one courses for younger or older students. We also offer an Introductory Course and Easter School for Year 9 students.
Course Duration
Our standard classroom-based courses are 2 days in length for GCSE and 3 days in length for A Level although there are some exceptions for different types of course.
Subjects
We offer a large range of subjects and you can see a full list of subjects currently available. If you cannot see the subject you are seeking, please contact us as we do add courses in response to customer demand.
All courses cover one subject, except for the Year 9 Easter School and GCSE Summer School, which offer 5 subjects over 5 days.
Our Timetable
We have a comprehensive timetable for our revision courses which can be fluid, responding to customer demand. For this reason, our full timetable is not available on our website but you can contact us by email or telephone to find out if your chosen subject(s) are available during your chosen dates and at your preferred centres or online.
We run revision courses over all holiday periods and on some weekends from the summer through to the May/June exams, to enable you to plan a comprehensive revision programme for your son or daughter. Whilst some of the content may be repeated during each holiday session, the individual student learning element will be different. The emphasis of the course will be more focused on new knowledge and knowledge consolidation earlier in the year and focused on exam techniques and exam questions the nearer it gets to the exams.
Take a look at the course dates for each individual holiday session or for the dates over the entire year, go to the Summary of All Dates.
