Centre Overview

Founded in 1894, Queen Anne’s School is a well known and well-loved independent boarding school in Caversham, near Reading, Berkshire. Queen Anne’s campus is a beautiful and inspiring setting, occupying 35 acres, with grounds that combine traditional Victorian architecture with new and contemporary buildings to provide cutting-edge facilities.

Queen Anne’s offers a number of meal choices and can cater for most dietary requirements with prior notice (taken at time of booking). There is also a snack shop onsite selling sweets, drinks and savoury snacks.

For residential students, accommodation is provided in comfortable bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of 4 of similarly aged students, in secure single sex dorms. Staff remain on site 24hrs per day to ensure student well being and safety.

Facilities available include a common room with television/ dvd player as well as spacious grounds for relaxation in the evening and at break times. Free WIFI is available.

Staff regularly organise group activities for students in the evening, such as basketball, rounders or fun quiz nights.

By car

From the south (A33, M4 Junction 11): Follow the A33/Reading. Follow signs for Caversham and Henley/A4155 crossing Caversham Bridge and the River Thames. Bear right through Caversham shopping area. At the mini roundabout, take the first exit left (Prospect Street) and travel up the hill to the traffic lights. Take Henley/A4155 straight across this junction. The main entrance to Queen Anne’s is approximately 600 yards on the left hand side. From the north (M40, Junction 6): Follow signs for Lewknor and Watlington/B4009. After Watlington take the B481/Nettlebed Road. In Nettlebed and turn left onto the A4130, turning right to Sonning Common and Reading/B481. Continue through Emmer Green until you approach Caversham (down a fairly steep hill). Turn left at the traffic lights on to the A4155. The main entrance to Queen Anne’s is approximately 600 yards on the left hand side. Please note that some Satellite Navigation systems deliver visitors to the back gate of the school. The main entrance is on Henley Road.

By public transport

Reading Station is a five-minute taxi ride from Queen Anne’s. Trains are available to destinations throughout the UK from Reading Station and run every few minutes to Paddington.

Queen Anne’s School uses Premier Cars taxi service which is CRB checked (though please note Justin Craig has not verified this). Premier Cars may be reached on 01189 500 500. Taxis from other providers are also available from outside Reading Station.
