Parents FAQs About A-Level and GCSE Revision Courses

Before the course starts and registration

Do I need to accompany my son/daughter to registration on the first day?

No it is not essential. If students register on their own, it gives them a sense of independence and ownership of their studies, which will motivate them. If, however, you wish to register together to remove any lingering doubt you may have, we will have registration staff on hand to assist.

Where will registration be?

Often the location is the assembly hall. When you arrive at a centre, there will be directions for registration prominently displayed throughout the school.

We notice that classes do not start until sometime after registration. Why do we need to turn up so early?

We like to start promptly at the time(s) stated on the timetable. We may well have more than 100 students registering and this takes time. Students are then able to find their classrooms between registration and the start of lessons.

What should my son/daughter have with them at registration?

The registration documents. On presentation of this they will be provided with their timetable. If the registration documents are forgotten this will inevitably cause delay.

What should my son/daughter bring with them for their course(s)?

Writing materials, paper, notes, textbooks and specialist books are essential. It is vital that every student brings past papers (or exemplar papers for new AS specifications). They must also know the number and title of their specification and the name of the Awarding Body.

During the course

How do I communicate with Justin Craig Education during the course.

This can be done through the Course Director who will be present at the centre. The Course Director and his assistants can be recognised by their purple Justin Craig Education t-shirts.

What if my son/daughter wants to change subjects?

At Justin Craig Education we want to maximise student satisfaction. If possible, unless other subjects are full, the centre Course Director can make the change.

What if we wish to add other revision sessions?

First students must check with the Course Director that spaces are available. If they are then bookings can be made through Head Office. Even if everything is booked at this centre, it is possible that there may be availability at another centre nearby. The centre Course Director can contact Head office on your behalf.

What time can I pick my son/daughter up at the end of the day?

The daily timetable carries a specific finish time to the day and this is when classes finish. Please do not ask your son/daughter to leave early.

We have a family commitment/my son/daughter has another commitment for part of the day, is it all right to miss part of the day?

Yes it is, but there are a number of conditions here.

  • The centre Course Director must be contacted first.
  • There will be no refund.
  • The tutor is not obliged to make up for lost time if this interferes with the work of other students.
