Watford Grammar School for Girls was founded as a charity school for girls in 1704 and re-founded as a secondary school in 1884.The school has occupied its present site in central Watford since 1907. The school is located close to the town centre with magnificent traditional school buildings and excellent teaching facilities.
At Watford Grammar School for Girls, we do not offer meals and recommend students either bring a packed lunch or buy something from one of the local shops in the town centre, which is approximately a 10 minute walk from the school. There is a small snack shop onsite selling sweets, drinks and savoury snacks.

The main train stations are Watford High Street (operated by London Overground), Watford Junction and Watford North (both of which are operated by London Midland).
Major bus routes have stops located in nearby Watford town centre, with regular services to towns including St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and Ricksmansworth.
Leave the M25 at junction 19. Follow the signs for Watford Town Centre (A411). Join the central one way system and continue until you see a mosque on your right hand side. Take the next turning left and immediately turn left again into Lady’s Close for Watford Grammar School for Girls.
