Using Private Tutors
The BBC has reported that the impact of closed schools during the Covid-19 pandemic has led to an increase in demand for private tutors who are not legally required to have their background record checked before working with children.
Justin Craig is well aware of this risk and takes the additional step of undertaking Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks on its tutors every three years. There is an elevated risk for any company or school that employs tutors on an occasional basis, so to counteract this, Justin Craig does not rely on school DBS checks, which may have been carried out many years ago but instead carries our regular checks on its tutors in order to protect its students.
How Justin Craig Courses Have Changed (including COVID precautions)
Justin Craig continues to offer courses – both now classroom based and an online format.
We have developed a new series of online courses to assist student learning, to fill their knowledge gaps and give them the best chance in their teacher assessments. It’s critical that students stay focused and on-track with their studies and for this reason we also now offer One to One Tuition, in addition to our usual holiday courses.
At our centres we will take every precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff. To that end, we will follow Government COVID guidance and implement precautions that are relevant at the time, which may include the wearing of masks, pre-course lateral flow tests, use of hand sanitiser, enhanced disinfection, etc
