Enhanced Easter Revision Courses
Justin Craig is offering Easter revision courses with a difference this year. To help prepare students for internal school tests/exams, that will feed into their Teacher Assessed GCSE and A Level grades, Justin Craig courses will include exam practice and individual student reports. Each course will now feature a mock exam to test students’ readiness for internal school tests and we will issue a written report at the end of the course, to give parents and students an indication of their preparedness for school tests/exams and identify the areas they need to work on to achieve higher grades. The mock exam will be based on past exam questions, as Ofqual has indicated that school and exam board tests/exams will also be structured in this way. Our expert tutors (many of whom are examiners) are best placed to help students prepare for their school tests and achieve better Teacher Assessed grades.
Ofqual have just announced that all schools’ Teacher Assessed grades must be submitted to them by 18th June, so there is still time for big improvements to be made in a student’s grade. Results will be announced on the week commencing 9th August 2021 and students can also take exams in the Autumn, if they wish to.
If you would like to discuss how we can help you, with revision, tuition or exam practice, please contact one of our friendly booking advisors on 01727 744340 or email us at [email protected] or visit our Easter Revision page.
Re-opening of Schools and Summer School
Secondary schools are re-opening from 8th March and they will be able to have a phased return during that week. Attendance will be compulsory and a mass testing programme will be implemented. The Government’s four point plans aims to lift all social restrictions by the end of June which will allow Justin Craig’s Summer School to run in centres as well as online.
The Risk of Using Private Tutors
The government is being urged to close a legal loophole to stop convicted sex offenders working with children as private tutors. The BBC has reported that the impact of closed schools during the Covid-19 pandemic has led to an increase in demand for private tutors who are not legally required to have their background checked before working with children. See the full BBC report.
Justin Craig is well aware of this risk and takes the additional step of undertaking Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks on it’s tutors every three years. There is an elevated risk for any company or school that employs tutors on an occasional basis, so to counteract this, Justin Craig does not rely on school DBS checks, which may have been carried out many years ago but instead carries our regular checks on it’s tutors in order to protect it’s students.

How Justin Craig Courses Have Changed
Justin Craig continues to offer courses although due to the pandemic has had to move all courses to an online format. We are planning to start centre-based courses again this, starting with the Justin Craig Summer School, as the Government are aiming to lift all social restrictions by the end of June.
We have developed a new series of online courses to assist student learning to fill their knowledge gaps and give them the best chance in their teacher assessments. It’s critical that students stay focused and on track with their studies and for this reason we now offer the following courses, in addition to our usual holiday courses:
- Saturday School
- One to one tuition
Once we are informed about the evidence that will contribute towards teacher assessments for GCSE and A Level grade awards, we will offer targeted courses from Easter onwards.

Our next holiday courses start on 29th March. See our latest availability.
