  • Past papers: as part of their GCSE biology revision course, students may work through biology past papers, both independently and as part of a group.
  • Descriptive sessions: in these collaborative revision sessions, students study resources and then discuss and describe topics in full.

A Level Summer School

Justin Craig will be running Summer Schools for both GCSEs & A Levels in August 2019.

A Level Summer School

This is a five day Course for Year 12 students starting Year 13 in September. The course will give students the confidence and knowledge consolidation to approach their Year 13 studies with enthusiasm. This will be particularly important for the more challenging linear A Level that arrived under the recent governmental reforms.

Students will spend their days purely on the subject they have chosen, with concentration on exam question requirements, filling knowledge gaps and subject matter. Class sizes will be small, with a maximum number of 10 students per class.

We will revise some of the topics that were covered in Year 12 and, if there is time, introduce the students to some that they will encounter in Year 13. The Tutors will also go through Exam technique and answering Exam questions with the students. We will liaise with each student beforehand to ascertain the areas they have covered in Year 12.

A Level students will also be doing sessions covering CV writing and UCAS personal statements.

Summer Programme Timetable

Lessons will start at 9.15am and run to 4.30pm each day, with two 15 minutes breaks and an hour for lunch. Between 4.45 and 6pm and after dinner there is a programme of sporting activities (volley ball, table tennis, rounders etc.) as well as a BBQ, film nights and a farewell camp fire.

We recommend that students attend on a residential basis as it allows students to bond and make their stay feel like a good mix of work and fun, enhancing their ability to learn. Attendance on a day basis is possible and will include lunch, with pick up at 6pm.

A Level Summer Centres

The A Level Summer Schools will be held at our revision centre in Ware, Hertfordshire, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire and Central London.

Students will stay in the boarding accommodation at the school centres – single & twin rooms available.
